EXPANDING THE THOUGHT

GENERATION Y

GENERATION Y is here to assist you,the aspiring young leader, to be great and impact the world.

We are extremely appreciative of the amount of support we have received and we would like to say thank you to all the viewers before we begin with today's post

CONTINUALLY EXPAND

MEDITATION

Welcome back! Over the past few weeks we have gone through recognizing your individual purpose an d fully valuing the potential that your individual purpose holds.

Today we are going to end the discussion of individual purposes by going through, reaching or striving for your individual potential on a daily basis.

You need to make sure that in every single day you get closer to manifesting the potential of your individual purpose into reality.

To do so requires an unbreakable determination to want to reach your individual purpose, which should be present after valuing your individual purpose. And once you have placed enough value into your unique purpose and fully understood it ( as discussed in our previous post "WELCOME BACK", https://genyouthgen.blogspot.com/2019/12/welcome-back.html) you should simply apply focus and effort to moving towards your purpose on a daily basis.

Ensure that you align your values and your value system with your purpose as this will ultimately lead to achieving your purpose at a faster rater an with less struggle. Once your values are aligned with your purpose you will begin to be moving towards your purpose unconsciously and achieving greatness, in respect to your purpose, will become second nature.

If you would like to personally continue this discussion or comment on it, please contact us at the email address at the bottom of the post or comment on the post and we will get back to you. But otherwise CONTINUE TO GROW EVERYDAY TOWARDS YOUR PURPOSE.

Next time we will be starting a new discussion! If you would like to help or suggest any new topics that you would like for us to discuss please comment your topic on this post or send an email to the address below.

GREATNESS IS THOUGHT ABOUT WAY BEFORE IT IS
ACHIEVED

SOCIETY

After discussing all that we have discussed in the previous posts about how we as the youth and aspiring leaders can change the world and society. We would like to discuss if we actually have that much of an impact.

Do we have enough hold and real power in this current society to create real change?

Can we create a large enough change in the political, socio-economical and environmental standpoint that we find ourselves in?

And can we really alleviate problems that the world has been facing for decades such as war, poverty and insufficient resources for everyone?

When in a world where there is a percentage of people who live life extremely lavishly through greed and corruption and a larger percentage live with nothing and must suffer due to the decisions taken by those in power, where there are those of us who live in freedom ( no matter how false it may be ) and there are others who are still slaves, we need to ask these questions.

And we will be going through these questions and see what verdict we reach. And PLEASE add your input by commenting on this post or by emailing the address at the bottom of the screen. Thank you.

POETRY

Today's poem merely personifies freedom and will act as an intro to the discussion we will be starting next wee in our "SOCIETY" section, as we all need to understand freedom and share it.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

This week's quote, as simplistic as it may be, really gives insight to human nature and causes controversy to a well-known expression.

"People don't change, they grow" - the boy who slept on my couch.

If you hear or have a quote you would like us to share please comment it on this post or email the address below.

CONTINUATIONS

GENERATION Y

GENERATION Y is here to assist you,the aspiring young leader, to be great and impact the world.

Go down your own road

MEDITATION

Last time we discussed the power of purpose and fully recognizing your individual purpose and the change that recognizing your individual purpose can have. Today we are going to focus on valuing your purpose and how to value it correctly.
Shine

Understand your purpose and where it will lead you. You need to fully understand it and what your purpose entails.

Secondly, to fully value your purpose do not limit it's potential. Constantly find ways to grow into your purpose and what you could do to reach the potential that your purpose may possess.

Another important way to holistically valuing your purpose is to not cling to the past. The past is filled with multiple moments and many of these moments have negative associations. These moments shaped us, grew us and highly influenced us and we should look back at them but do not dwell in the past. Do not allow past mistakes to define you. You have to let go of them.

This is easier said than done so we recommend that you take time to meditate upon all of these points and really value your individual purpose.

SOCIETY

Strength exists amongst unity
We previously discussed the issues that we face as a society. The issues that were brought up are the most prevalent problems and we asked if it's possible to change the situation we face in these problems.
We concluded that change is possible.

Today we are going to discuss the obvious, how do we bring about change?
We all the answer, we bring about change together.

All change should begin with the individual and expand to helping others bring about change and we urge you,as the future leaders, to begin with yourself.

We aspire to be great leaders and inspire others and to do that we must unite.
There are multiple organizations and NPO's that exist. All we must do is find a way to help them.

If you are part of an NGO or NPO please contact GENERATION Y and we will do our best to bring support to your organization.
Contact us through the email address below.

POETRY

Today's poem is from a young and soon to be great poet. Mr Donte Collins.

We would like to thank you for supporting us. We appreciate it immensely. We are here to assist you in achieving your greatness and becoming a great leader.

WELCOME BACK!!!!

GENERATION Y

We are back!!! Thank you for being patient while we were taking a break. We sincerely hope that you have made a great impact to either your life or the lives of others during our time away. We also hope that you have taken our previous posts and their knowledge into your life. We are extremely excited to return and to be able to assist you on your leadership journey and journey to personal greatness.

Remember. GENERATION Y is here to assist you,the aspiring young leader, to be great and impact the world.

So let's get back to it.

We are our own creation.

MEDITATION

Today we will be starting a discussion that we will continue over the next few weeks. The topic of this discussion is "Purpose". We will be going over the concept of purpose in it's entirety.

But today we begin with understanding what "Purpose" is and understanding the "Power of Purpose"

The basic description of Purpose is , the reason why. We previously touched on the importance of "why" in our previous post under the MEDITATION section (the link of the post will be below)

But purpose goes beyond why something is done. Purpose to a leader is a driving force, an end result, the basis of your legacy and guides you to the abilities and capabilities you possess in your greatness.

Purpose for each individual differs but begins in the same place, within. To make use of your purpose fully you will have to recognize and understand it, this begins within. You will have to self- reflect and see your purpose. Look at how you are alone, how you interact, your instinctful thought process and your immediate reactions.

We encourage you to take time to meditate and understand your personal purpose and fully recognize it.
And please understand that everyone has a purpose

(PREVIOUS POST LINK-https://genyouthgen.blogspot.com/2018/07/continuing-journey.html?m=1)

You are the water that will nourish
The seed to your personal
Growth

SOCIETY

Today we face many social challenges and issues. We constantly hear stories of ; Gender based violence, Racism, Sexism, Corruption and violation of our basic human rights. And in 2019 approaching 2020 it seems that as much as we grow and change as a society, we remain the same.

So today we also are beginning a discussion on the change that we as a society desperately need.

Today we focus on, if the world can change?
The simple answer is yes it can.

As a generation we are the most conscious and aware of the issues we face as a world and society. We are also the most interconnected generation and therefore we see and hear all that happens in the world, and we need to use that.

The first step to any form of change or solving a problem is noticing the problems and we have done that. We are extremely aware of the issues we face and now we need to act.

We will continue next week on the changes we need and how to go about changing the world. If you have any comments or thoughts or statements that you would like us to be aware of please contact us through the e-mail address given below or in the comment section. Thank you.
Act now.
POETRY
Today's poem is based around how the world treats it's people and how those in power treat people.
Please send any suggestions of poems to us at the e-mail address given below. Please send the title, a copy of the poem and a short description of the poem.

We cannot guarantee your safety if you disobey our instructions.

We do not endorse the causes or claims of people begging for handouts.

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.
Your ticket does not guarantee that we will honor your reservations.

In order to facilitate our procedures, please limit your carrying on.

Before taking off, please extinguish all smoldering resentments.

If you cannot understand English, you will be moved out of the way.

In the event of a loss, you’d better look out for yourself.

Your insurance was cancelled because we can no longer handle
your frightful claims. Our handlers lost your luggage and we
are unable to find the key to your legal case.

You were detained for interrogation because you fit the profile.

You are not presumed to be innocent if the police
have reason to suspect you are carrying a concealed wallet.

It’s not our fault you were born wearing a gang color.

It is not our obligation to inform you of your rights.

Step aside, please, while our officer inspects your bad attitude.

You have no rights we are bound to respect.

Please remain calm, or we can’t be held responsible

GET READY!!!!!

GENERATION Y
We are back with the last of our input in the topics that we have been covering the last few posts. We are extremely grateful for all the views and support that we have received the past few months. We continue to grow on a more steady and interactive path. Without further delay, let's get into it.
Creation is a choice
MEDITATION
Visualize your goals with great detail, precision and with a realistic mindset. Consider all the factors that are implied with your dream. The best way to do this is through extensive research. Not only from the internet but from personal experiences and accounts from other people. Never discredit the power of other people.

This month we are going to emphasize the importance of evaluating our dreams and aspirations. Through this we can assure success. This relates to our post on knowing and evaluating your goals in life by making the activities you do to increase skill, a habit. Now from what you envisioned add your core values and morals.

MAKE SURE YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS FORM OF GREATNESS.

A lot if the time people do not reach greatness because they are not progressing correctly or because we are not strong enough to pursue it correctly. The concept of pursuing a dream correctly means that you pursue a dream knowing that you are going to reach it. This means that you have a strong enough urge to make your goal a reality. And to make a dream, reality we need to align who we are with the dream and move towards it.

As GENERATION Y, we want to emphasize that we have seen many people not reach their form of greatness because they are not aligned with their goal. To ensure that you're goal becomes a reality one must align their being to the goal and have a strong enough urge to attain their dream.
To chase after a dream that you are not aligned with, this causes a person to use unnecessary mental and physical strength and leaves you emotionally drained. At GENERATION Y we want all of our leaders to reach greatness and inspire the next generation of leaders to reach their firm of greatness
GROW. CREATE AND LEARN
POETRY

This poem is a war poem. Focused on the hardships of war especially for the youth and although we might not be in physical war we are in economical, mental, political and social war
PLEASE SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS ABOUT THE POEM. WE LOVE HEARING YOUR Feedback.

ANTHEM FOR DOOMED YOUTH BY WILFRED OWEN

INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE
This quote has so much power behind it and the beautiful thing about it is that it is from such and unusual source. This was a piece of advice given by an illiterate person to a child doing exams at the time.

"Do me one favor, don't watch everything. Focus on one thing" from the guy eating peanuts and coke on the side of the road.

Please please please continue to share your experiences with people who you have taken something greater than just a comment from.

SOCIETY

We are back at the topic of how do we deal with the situation that we as the youth have found ourselves in.

We urge all the viewers to come up with some form of plan or ideas to which we can leave the situation that we find ourselves in.

For example, in South Africa there has been a report that we do not have enough coal to sustain our electricity usage. This leaves many people stranded in a situation that seems unfixable and inescapable.

There are too many other situations similar to the South Africans are facing in Africa and throughout the world, on a political, social and economical level. We as the youth can not complain but rather find solutions to the dire situations that we are in.
Please talk amongst each other on how we are to tackle these problems.
We need to ensure our future

GENERATION Y
Hello people. This will be the last post of the year of 2018. Thank you for all of the support and feedback that we've received over the past few months. We are going to continue everything next year. And there will be so many improvements that will help you the people ensure your greatness.
Remain great and greatness shall remain.

Let's continue!

GENERATION Y
We are back!
This intro isn't going to be long. We continuing where we stopped. You guys know the deal. LIKE. COMMENT  SHARE and do all of this on whatever social media site you received the link for this post.
The only limits you have
Are the ones
You put there

MEDITATION

FOCUS on your goals. How do you do that? You don't make it a goal. You make it a habit.

If you plan to be the greatest than act like it. Be it.

Today as you would've picked up is about goals and successful behavior.

To reach your goals it is necessary that you embody the values and behaviors associated with your goal. Make them a habit. This will improve your mental progress towards your personal success. It is a method that many prominent leaders have used to ensure their success.
Once this habit becomes an instinct, this is the objective.

You become your instincts and therefore you will become an entity that is constantly striving to be great. Through this you will become great.

Before you begin your voyage towards your goals. EVALUATE YOUR GOALS this is extremely important. Move toward the correct goals then after assure that you reach them.

POETRY

Many people believe that we as the youth are free. That there is nothing holding us back. But the reality is that there are still chains on our ankles they've just been loosened. As leaders it is our mandatory duty create a free world for the youth to come after us. Mandela once said,
"For to be free is not merely to cast off one's chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others."

This month's poem is "Caged Bird" by Maya Angelou

SOCIETY
Today we continue with the generation topic and it's impact on us as the youth and further generations after us.

We will identify the issues that the previous generation left us with.

The main issue is the tattered state of the world's economics. Almost every country in Africa has a large population of it's people unemployed and currently experiencing poverty. This leaves us as the youth disadvantaged and once the previous generation is gone we must find a way to ensure that the next generation is more privileged than we are. This is to ensure the progression of people and their standard of living.
There are countless ways to help yourself as an individual in facing these issues. But let us not forget, a great leader is not a person who has reached greatness but has assured that his/her people has reached greatness. Therefore ensuring that everyone escapes the trap.

We will not continue to discuss this, but rather prefer that you the audience and leaders comment on any other issues, how we can solve them as a collective and can we even solve them. PLEASE COMMENT ON THE SOCIAL MEDIA SITE YOU RECEIVED THE LINK FROM.

  QUOTE

The quote we will be sharing speaks on maturity and leadership. It was taken from a 17 year black south African male. He said
"Maturity is not an age but rather a mindset. You do not have to be a specific age to inspire and lead others and you don't need to be a specific age to be mature in what you do. "

That's it for now. GENERATION Y has now decided to post every month. This is to allow the max amount of input from our side as well as yours.

Please continue to support and PLEASE COMMENT ON THE SOCIAL MEDIA THAT YOU RECEIVED THE LINK FOR THIS Post. Send us your comments and input and pictures and images so we can use them

Until next time

Continuing the journey

GENERATION Y

What is up good people! We hope you have had a great and prosperous week. We are going to continue everything we started. Thank you for all the new viewers from last week. If you are new don't feel afraid to comment and follow. But without further delay let's get into it.

MEDITATION

Last week we started our journey through mind power as well as spiritual development that will assist in reaching your own personal goal.
We spoke on focus last week and how focus will help you with any goals you wish to attain.

Today we are all about "why?"

Probably one of the most underrated but yet most prominent questions anyone should ask themselves. "why".
All great inventions are made for a reason, an invention without a purpose or without a reason is a waste. You as an aspiring leader must think similarly. Everything that you do should have a reason. Be it making a sandwich, if you are making a sandwich for the sake of simply making a sandwich does it make a difference if the sandwich was even made. This is what you don't want as a leader. As a leader of your own life you want to have a lasting impact on your life.
And the only way this is achieved is through having a reason. Having a reason that the result of your actions will fulfill.

We need to realize the power of "why?"

Asking yourself, "why" creates a larger affinity for whatever you aspire to do. Having this larger affinity is important as it will cause an increase in your productivity and efficiency.

So take time to meditate on why you do specific things to reach your personal goals.

We'll continue to provide advice and techniques on mental and spiritual development to help you improve your efficiency and reach your goals.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

This quote is so true in many aspects. What we love about these quotes is that they will occur from the strangest conversations as well as the strangest people. This week's quote is from a child who said this after I spoke to him about how tired I was after exams and how I still need more energy to become a greater person. Here's what he told me

"Just be a superhero. " - 7 year old boy

Remember to give your thoughts on the quote and don't be afraid to comment a quote. Just please put the source of the quote and drop a story behind it.

SOCIETY
We are continuing the topic we had last week.

Last week we pointed out that millennials apparently are an issue and that we are entitled.

This is simply a widely thought of opinion.
One of the reasons that is provided as evidence as to why we are supposedly lazy and narcissistic and entitled is we grew up receiving awards for minimal effort. An example is the participation award that many sports acknowledge as an award.

The generation before us, Generation X, find this as our greatest downfall. Now, generation x is approximately between 1960 till 1980. They are the generation where they had to discover the world on their own, they had to be innovative to get through whatever they needed to. That's how they grew up.

We, generation Y, grew up differently. We had a support system of some kind as we aged. There are more available ways for us to discover new parts of the world (figuratively speaking). We are the generation where everyone is trying to be included.

Gen X VS Gen Y.
Gen X although have been a credited with being the creative generation. There are also downfalls within their characteristics. For example, due to their lack of an emotional support system they tend to bottle up their emotions. Compared to Gen Y whereby there are multiple ways in which we are able to express whatever we feel, but there is a downside to this as we are well supported so it's a struggle standing on our own.

Is being in Gen Y a bad thing?
If so, why and how?

Let's get your comments on your experiences as a member of Gen Y or Gen X and how you feel about Gen Y, Gen X and even Gen Z. Comment below

POEM OF THE WEEK

Today's poem is short but will leave a mark on you. It is of a mother who adores the innocence in her child and her fear of the outside world which can easily taint that innocence. We can all relate on how the reality of the world tainted our innocence be it believing in Santa or seeing war.
But as future leaders we can assure that future generations will keep their innocence a bit longer. Here is "Child" by Sylvia Plath

_Hello good people!!
Thank you for viewing, commenting, following. We please ask that you don't be greedy, SHARE THIS WITH FRIENDS. Share with anyone and everyone. Remember everything that you do will assist another person.
Till next week.

We leave you with this

Nothing stops you from flying

Beginning of more

GENERATION Y

We are back. Hope everybody had the most productive and successful week. Today we are beginning a few topics that'll continue over weeks. So without further delay let's get into it.

MEDITATION

Today we are going to be discussing the concept of mind power and spiritual growth to attain success.
This topic we feel is extremely essential for anybody, not just the youth, to be discussing. We are going to start with the  concept of focus and focusing on the right aspects in order to increase your productivity as well as to ensure your success.
Now we can all name some stuff in our lives;be it physical , emotional or otherwise, that are preventing us and you from reaching your maximum potential. We can most likely list all these issues and aspects of our lives but is that important for us. We need to realize that we possess one of the greatest tools in the universe. Our mind. Now as cliché as it may sound, the mind is the greatest weapon against anything in your way.
I'll make an example. Let's say there is this person you like. Now the first thing on your mind is , "am I good enough for her? " , "does he even notice me? ", "will they like me?" . These are all thoughts. They are variables that we consider in circumstances. We cannot stop them. But we can filter and manipulate them so that they benefit us, that they grow us, they increase our potential. This is what focusing is. It is the filtering, manipulating and changing collective thoughts so that they benefit. That's the plan. And in the next few weeks we'll discuss more about our thoughts and how to focus on them so that they build us up instead of breaking us down and decreasing our potential as the youth.

Quote of the week

Today's quote is directed at the people who are either in school or in some kind of educational program. Nowadays as the youth we are shoved with the concept of getting the best marks and getting all the academic acalades. Now in no way are we saying that striving for your personal academic goal is unimportant but realize that there is more to just the books. The quote comes from a highly qualified teacher who has taught for many years.

"It's not about the marks, it's the knowledge" - English teacher from Johannesburg, South Africa.

Remember guys we would love to get your thoughts on the quotes and feel free to drop your own quote. Just place the person who said it as well.

SOCIETY

Today we are focusing on the stigma behind millennials. Millennials are approximately everyone born after 1980. This is probably the majority of us. There is much stigma around us and who we are. We, supposedly, constantly feel that we are entitled and that we do not work for anything. We always want to receive but do not want to apply effort in order to achieve our goals and aspirations.
No lie, we are different from the generations before us. There is much more available to us in terms of information and we are able to interact with anyone that we wish to. Plus there is social media. There has been an increase in teenage depression and suicide as well as an increase in young people who are qualified but are unemployed. There are shocking statistics that are based around us and compared to other generations we are improving extremely in specific aspects but are also extremely lacking in skill in aspects that the previous generations had mastered.
The question we are posing is why is it that we are drastically different from the previous generations?
Have we done something wrong?
Is it a good thing for us to be this different? And what are we to do about it?

Drop your thoughts down at the comments section. We'll discuss this further over a few weeks.

POEM OF THE WEEK

The poem we have for you is based on the the society question and topic we discussed on our previous post.
Written in the times of the American Civil Rights Movement this poem can be applied in many aspects of the world we fond ourselves in. It is up to us as the youth to make "tomorrow" happen. We aim for inclusion and acceptance of all people independent of race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation or otherwise.

Here it is.
I, Too, Sing America by Langston Hughes

_Hey guys. We would love to hear some feedback from you guys on anything here at generation Y. We are open to any comments and suggestions. Drop your thoughts and comments in the comments section below and don't be afraid to crush that follow button. Everything you add to improve us assists us in assisting the youth. What you comment may change the life of another.
